The IASO 3rd Medical Oncology Department is supported by a multidisciplinary team of specialists who offer the most modern, comprehensive and top-level personalized care to oncology patients, with a deep sense of respect and compassion for people.

It was established in 2019 by Dr. Sofia Karageorgopoulou, Medical Oncologist (University of Athens PhD Holder), who has extensive clinical experience and research activity in Greece and abroad and specializes in breast cancer, gynecological cancer and hereditary cancer, with the aim of providing an innovative and comprehensive therapeutic oncologic approach.

 The Vision of the Clinic

The primary aim/vision of the Clinic is to provide patients with immediate update and access to the latest international therapeutic and diagnostic medical services, offer consultations for prevention options and early diagnosis of new tumors, give multifaceted support to patients and their carers, get patients involved in the treatment decisions and eventually, provide optimal treatment, backed by a team of qualified and experienced nurses, psychologists, nutritionists and physiotherapists.  

The ongoing training of the Clinic doctors, with active participation in international medical conventions, ensures they meet the needs to provide suitable treatment for all solid tumors (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted treatment with biological agents, etc.). The reception staff ensure impeccable services in procedural and bureaucratic issues, and fully cover e-prescriptions, while the team is on standby for communication and provision of services in case of an emergency.  

 The Clinic is equipped with:  

  • A fully organized Hereditary Cancer, Gene Testing and Genetic Counseling Department and offers state-of-the-art Precision Medicine services in a fixed partnership with a trained and fully qualified clinical molecular biologist/geneticist.
  • A Clinical Trials Department with extensive research experience and easy access to promising treatments and early access programs (EAP) for approved new treatments, before their wide circulation in Greece.  
  • An organized Chemotherapy and Follow-Up Department for patients by appointment  
  • Active participation in the IASO Multidisciplinary Oncology Councils and excellent cooperation with distinguished and qualified Breast Surgeons, Gynecologic Oncologists, Oncology Surgeons, Radiation Oncologists, Plastic Surgeons and doctors of all medical specialties, aiming to provide comprehensive patient care.
