Cardiac Electrophysiology - Cardiac rhythm management device implantation

The Heart Rhythm Center is a state-of-the-art reference hub specialized in diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias, as well as managing implantable cardiac devices. Launched at IASO General Clinic in 2021, national registry data now ranks it at the very top of electrophysiology labs across the country.

Equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, our Electrophysiology Lab seamlessly integrates advanced 3D mapping and pulsed field ablation (PFA) systems. Our highly experienced electrophysiologists perform complex ablation procedures daily for atrial fibrillation, as well as supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias. Additionally, the center carries out a high volume of cardiac device implantations, ranging from conventional pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) to complex biventricular pacing systems (CRT) and advanced conduction system pacing (CSP). To provide continuous, all-inclusive patient support, the center operates a dedicated Outpatient Arrhythmia Clinic alongside a specialized Pacemaker & Defibrillator Monitoring and Programming Clinic.

At the 3^rd Cardiology Clinic, we provide comprehensive, personalized care for patients with primary cardiovascular conditions, as well as those with multi-system diseases requiring expert cardiac monitoring. In close collaboration with the Echocardiography Department of IASO General Clinic, we offer advanced diagnostic imaging solutions, including stress echocardiography (Stress Echo) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE). A key pillar of our clinical activities is Cardio-Oncology. This specialized field focuses on the cardiovascular assessment and management of oncology patients before, during, and after cancer therapy. Our goal is the prevention, early detection, and effective management of potential cardiovascular complications arising from cancer treatments, while simultaneously managing any pre-existing heart disease.

Interventional Cardiology & Structural Heart Interventions

The 3^rd Department of Cardiology delivers the full range of modern interventional procedures to treat coronary artery disease, including diagnostic coronary angiograms and selective or primary angioplasty (PCI). Furthermore, our team specializes in cutting-edge, minimally invasive structural heart interventions, such as left atrial appendage (LAA) closure, atrial septal defect (ASD) closure, and transcatheter heart valve therapies.

Driven by academic excellence, the 3^rd Cardiology Clinic maintains a robust research and training footprint. We produce internationally recognized clinical research in cardiovascular medicine, with a particular focus on electrophysiology. At the same time, the Heart Rhythm Center serves as an innovative educational hub, training next-generation cardiologists from major public and university hospitals both in Greece and abroad.
