IASO General Clinic: MOZART® Specimen Tomosynthesis System - Augmented Intelligence for more accurate and safe breast surgeries

IASO General Clinic: MOZART® Specimen Tomosynthesis System - Augmented Intelligence for more accurate and safe breast surgeries

Extensive imaging & intraoperative insights

It constitutes the most advanced technology worldwide in intraoperative breast tissue imaging, enabling surgeons to assess the excised lesion and the surgical margins with three-dimensional precision.

How MOZART® works – in simple terms

After the excision of the specimen (whether it is a tumor or non-palpable lesions, such as microcalcifications or architectural distortions), the tissue is placed in the specialized system. In about a minute, the physician receives a high-definition 3D image that combines both visual and radiological information. Consequently, this greatly assists in immediately ascertaining that the targeted lesion has been properly excised. Moreover, in every surgical procedure where MOZART® is used, surgical time is reduced by approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

Why it is important for the patient

  • Reduced likelihood of reoperation –the chances of a second surgery are reduced by up to 80%.
  • Less discomfort – faster recovery, less stress.
  • Better aesthetic outcome – only the necessary tissue is removed, preserving the breast’s appearance.
  • Greater accuracy in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Shorter operation time and less anesthesia required.

Studies have shown that the use of the MOZART® system reduces surgery time, offers significant cost savings, and improves both the experience and quality of life of the patient.

By integrating this system, IASO Hospital’s Breast Center further reinforces its commitment to providing high-quality, personalized care for every woman, making good use of the latest advancements in medical technology.
