IASO Children’s Hospital: 12th Hybrid Scientific One-Day Conference on “Contemporary Pediatric Issues”
The 12th Hybrid Scientific One-Day Conference of IASO Children’s Hospital on "Contemporary Pediatric Issues”, will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., at IASO Hospital’s Event Hall (37-39 Kifissias Ave., Maroussi).
Distinguished scientists from the full range of pediatric specialties and invited speakers will participate in the conference and present interesting and relevant topics, as well as the new methods applied in pediatric science and practice nowadays.
The conference will commence with a speech by the medical service and the presentation of the latest insights from the field of infectious diseases, such as Scabies, Measles and Pertussis, and also the experts will refer to short-course antibiotic treatment in children.
During the conference, special emphasis will be put on relevant pediatrics topics, such as Atopic Manifestations, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Myocarditis, Congenital Hyperinsulinism, Neonatal Hypoglycemia, but also on relevant Nephrology topics, specifically on Acute Kidney Failure in newborns and infants and on the continuing Care of the child with Kidney Disease in adulthood.
Subsequently, the speakers will refer to Thrombotic Strokes in children, Juvenile Fibromyalgia, about the healthy lifestyle from birth to adolescence, Cochlear Implant Surgery as a modern treatment for Hearing Loss, the World Primary Immunodeficiency Week and International Immunization Day.
Finally, within the framework of the conference, the following events will be presented:

- Rare Appendix complication in a 16-year-old girl
- Lateral Cervical Fistula on the grounds of Chronic Osteomyelitis from tooth inflammation. A rare occurrence
- Acute Meningitis in an infant from Meningococcus B
- Hyperandrogenism in a male infant
- Adrenal Insufficiency in an 11-year-old girl
