IASO: IBUS Multimodality Breast Imaging and Image-guided Interventions Course
International Educational Meeting on the Current Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
The 13th IBUS Athens Breast Course , focusing on the Detection, Diagnosis, Staging and Interventional Breast Techniques, will be held in Athens, from Thursday, June 12th, to Saturday, June 14th, 2025, at IASO Hospital (37-39 Kifissias Ave, Maroussi).
Top-tier international instructors in the field of diagnostic imaging and surgical treatment of breast cancer and diseases will participate in the Course once again.
IASO is hosting the IBUS Multimodality Breast Imaging and Image-guided Interventions Course for this year too. The Course is an initiative of the Scientific Society of Mastology - Treatment and Support (E.M.E.I.S.), with Dr. Grigorios Xepapadakis, Director of IASO Hospital’s 2nd Breast Clinic, as its Chairman.
The aim of the training seminar is to provide training in the diagnosis, staging and invasive techniques of breast surgery, as developed by the IBUS Breast Imaging School. The speakers are experts in both the diagnostic imaging of breast pathology and its surgical treatment.
The seminar aims to disseminate the optimal use of imaging techniques for the detection, diagnosis, staging and guided surgery, using ultrasound and other advanced methods.
The lecture topics have been selected to provide complete and up-to-date information on imaging techniques, diagnostic criteria and interventional practices, reflecting the latest technological advances.
The hands-on sessions constitute an important part of the program, during which participants – in small groups – will have the opportunity to apply invasive techniques on manikins, under the supervision of the instructors. In addition, the program includes live surgeries, which will be transmitted on a closed circuit and enable the direct interaction between participants and surgeons during the procedures.
The IBUS Breast Imaging School has been implementing such courses for the past 34 years, being highly esteemed from the international scientific community. The European School of Oncology (ESO) has included this Course in its “Recommended Event” list.
The seminar will award Continuing Medical Education Credits from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (U.E.M.S.).
The Press Conference for the presentation of the seminar will take place on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at IASO Hospital’s Events Hall, with the participation of leading scientists in the field.
The Press Conference will be attended by Dr. Emmanouil Doulgerakis, representing IASO Group’s Board of Directors, Dr. Grigorios Xepapadakis, Director, 2nd Breast Clinic, IASO, as well as Professor Enzo Durante, Professor of Surgery, IBUS Founding Member, Professor of General Surgery, University of Ferrara, Italy.
