IASO Institute of Life Wins Innovation & Technological Advancement Award for Groundbreaking Clinical Study on Maternal Spindle Transfer

The ACCI 2020 Awards were successfully held at the Athens Concert Hall on Tuesday 14 January 2020. The Athens Chamber of Commerce & Industry awarded business excellence during a spectacular ceremony attended by the President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos.

The Research, Innovation & Technological Advancement Award was presented to IASO Institute of Life Assisted Reproduction Unit (IVF) for its groundbreaking clinical study on maternal spindle transfer, actually conducted for the first time globally at the IASO Institute of Life laboratory, in partnership with Embryotools.

This method offers women with repeated IVF failures due to cytoplasmic defects of the oocytes or women with rare mitochondrial genetic diseases the chance to have healthy children with their own genetic material.
