Scientific 2-Day Conference on Diabetes Mellitus, 21-22/10/2016 at “Divani Palace Acropolis”
IASO General’s Internal Medicine – Diabetes Clinic and Diabetes Center are holding a Scientific 2-day Conference titled “Diabetes Mellitus 2016: From the mother and her gestation, for the newborn, child, adolescent and adult, up to the third age. Advanced treatments in everyday clinical practice. Contemporary strategy for the prevention of complications.”. The 2-day Conference shall be held on Friday 21 October and Saturday 22 October 2016, at the “Divani Palace Acropolis” Hotel (19, Parthenonos street, Athens).
Mr. Antonios Lepouras, Internist-Diabetes specialist, Chief of the Internal Medicine Clinic and the Diabetes Center at IASO General, shall be the Scientist Responsible for the Conference. Dr. G. Stamatiou, Chairman of IASO Group’s BOD, shall deliver the welcome speech. Renowned speakers of various specialties shall participate in the Conference in order to address topics related both to the advanced treatments and the field of the prevention of complications.
Diabetes Mellitus continues to show an increasing trend in occurrence and incidence rates among population. In addition, various and unpleasant co-morbidities subsequent to Diabetes Mellitus (cardiovascular diseases, diabetic foot, ophthalmic conditions, malignancies and COPD), maintain their high rates. Fertility and gestation in diabetic patients are of specific nature and require individualized therapeutic management, as well as close cooperation between the gynecologist and the diabetes specialist.
For this reason, speeches displaying different perspectives and specialties have been programmed to assist in the comprehensive knowledge of the subject. Lifelong learning constitutes an essential good, not only for clinical practice and education on the recent advances in therapeutic perspectives, but also for the communication and cooperation among therapists, helping them to deal with the multiple and concurrent medical problems encountered by diabetic patients.
Participation in the Conference is free of charge and eight CME-CPD Units shall be allocated by the Panhellenic Medical Association. Also, the Private University “IEK AKMI” shall be a Scientific Associate to the Conference.
