Prompted by the World Breastfeeding Week (1-7 November 2014), IASO Maternity and Gynecology Clinic participates in the events held by AVENUE Shopping Mall titled “Days of Health & Quality of Life”. In particular, on Saturday 1 November 2014, at 11.30 a.m. and at 17.00 p.m., informative speeches shall be delivered titled “Breastfeeding and infantile care” at the “small square” of AVENUE Shopping Mall (41-47, Kifissias Avenue, Maroussi). During the event, speeches shall be delivered by Messrs Anagnostakou Georgia, Midwife, Operating Room Officer at IASO, Ieromnimon Ioanna, Midwife, Nursing Floor Officer at IASO, and advice shall be given on successful breastfeeding and infantile care. The main scope of the event is breastfeeding awareness, information and promotion.

World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, acknowledging the value of Breastfeeding, established the Initiative “Baby-friendly Hospitals”, by setting the Ten Steps to a Successful Breastfeeding, the embracing of which constitutes the ultimate goal of IASO.

Acknowledging the mother’s priceless offer towards her child and at the same time the indefeasible right of a newborn to breastfeeding – which is the optimal way for exclusive feeding for the first six months of the infant’s life – we, at IASO Maternity and Gynecology Clinic, put significant efforts in the awareness, consciousness, information and promotion of breastfeeding and try to apply the Ten Steps to its Success.
