Endoscopy Unit with cutting-edge medical equipment and Artificial Intelligence software

The new well-equipped Endoscopy Unit of IASO General Clinic was created to offer high-quality diagnostic and interventional healthcare services for all gastrointestinal and pulmonary conditions. In addition to the new-technology and high-definition endoscopes, the Unit uses the new Artificial Intelligence endoscopy software, which ranks it among the innovative Units in Greece and Europe that are equipped with and use this cutting-edge technology.

It is staffed by specialists with excellent scientific expertise and long experience, as well as well-trained nursing personnel, and features cutting-edge diagnostic equipment, covering the entire range of endoscopic procedures for all gastrointestinal and pulmonary conditions.

Specifically, it has:

• Three endoscopy rooms with state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical endoscopy machines.
• An endoscopy room with an artificial intelligence system to aid in the detection and characterization of colon polyps.
• An endoscopy room with an advanced endoscopic ultrasound system with the elastography technique (EUS and EBUS) for the diagnosis, study and surgical management of difficult-to-diagnose gastrointestinal and pulmonary cases.
• An endoscope cleaning, disinfection and storage room, with two pre-cleaning workstations, two automatic endoscope cleaning and disinfection systems and an endoscope drying and storage system, meeting European specifications 15883-1 & 4.
• A recovery room with three fully-equipped beds with a system for monitoring patients’ vital signs.

Moreover, advanced Surgical Endoscopic procedures are performed in the Radiology department, which need radioscopic support, such as ERCP, dilations of strictures of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, endoprosthesis (stent) placement, etc.

The state-of-the-art endoscopy systems integrate innovative and groundbreaking technologies, such as high-resolution imaging, magnifying electronic chromoendoscopy using Linked Color Imaging (LCI) and Blue Light Imaging (BLI) and the new pioneering CAD-EYE Artificial Intelligence endoscopy software, which make up the most modern and well-rounded system in endoscopic imaging on a global basis. The use of these sophisticated systems contributes to the optimization of the quality of gastrointestinal endoscopy, thus significantly increasing its reliability and diagnostic accuracy.
