The Versa HD™ linear accelerator by the manufacturing company ELEKTA, is specially designed to apply techniques that require extreme accuracy in radiation administration, such as Stereotactic RadioSurgery (SRS) for the brain, Fractionated Stereotactic RadioTherapy (FSRT) for intracranial tumors and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) for extracranial ones.
Versa HD™, with its high-definition dynamic radiosurgery (HDRS), coupled with its innovative systems for the imaging and examination of the patient's internal organ movement, provides extreme accuracy when applying such techniques, ensuring they effectively treat a wide range of neoplasms.
The Versa HD™ 4D-guided imaging treatment (Symmetry), combined with the use of the Active Breath Coordinator (ABC) system for the monitoring and control of the patient’s breathing, makes is possible to the administer Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) to patients with inoperable early-stage lung cancer, escalating the radiation dose and, at the same time, minimizing treatment toxicity.
