For the first time in Greece, the pioneering Microwave Fibroid Ablation (MFA) method for the treatment of uterine fibroids was applied at IASO, expanding the minimally invasive therapeutic options available to women.

This significant medical development was achieved in collaboration with INSIGHT M.T.I.K.E. (a company of the Konstantinos Vogdaneris Brothers Group), which has consistently invested in innovation and in introducing advanced medical technologies in Greece, making a substantial contribution to upgrading treatment options for women patients in Greece.

IASO, committed to the philosophy of continuous development and the provision of high-quality healthcare services, once again confirms its pioneering role in modern medicine by hosting the first application of this technique in Greece.

The procedure was recently performed at IASO by Alexandros Lazaridis, Obstetrician- Gynecologic Surgeon and Endoscopic Surgeon (MD, MRCOG, CCT (UK), BSCCP, MSc), who specializes in modern minimally invasive treatments and is at the forefront of developments in gynecologic surgery.

In this particular case, the procedure was performed using a hysteroscopic approach, one of the five available surgical techniques of MW Fibroid Ablation.The method is performed using the electrode of HS Hospital Service Spa and constitutes an innovative, minimally invasive treatment option for uterine fibroids, offering shorter recovery time and a faster return to everyday activities.

The first application of MW Fibroid Ablation in Greece represents an important step toward expanding treatment options in gynecology and highlights the collaboration between INSIGHT M.T.I.K.E., IASO, and Obstetrician-Gynecologist, and Endoscopic Surgeon Alexandros Lazaridis, with the shared goal of providing patients with access to modern, safe, and effective treatment solutions.
