IASO General Clinic in collaboration with the Internal Medicine - Infectious Diseases Clinic is organizing a One-Day Conference on the topic: “Infections in Obstetrics and Gynecology”, which will be held on Saturday, October 11^th, 2025, at 09:00, at IASO Hospital’s Event Hall (37-39 Kifissias Ave, Maroussi).

The aim of the Conference is to highlight the importance of early diagnosis and proper treatment of infections that occur in women of reproductive age, during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. These infections can be severe for both the mother's and the newborn's life, especially during pregnancy.

Special emphasis will be placed on the clinical approach, the safe use of antimicrobial agents, as well as viral infections that are of particular importance with regard to both the mother and the fetus. Through the exchange of scientific knowledge and experience, the event seeks to strengthen collaboration among internists, gynecologists, obstetricians, infectious disease specialists, and healthcare professionals.

The Conference will feature presentations by distinguished scientists, covering a wide range of topics such as recurrent vulvovaginitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, urinary tract infections during pregnancy, antibiotic therapy during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as obstetrically significant viral infections. The event will conclude with a special presentation dedicated to women as a source of inspiration in Art.

Specially selected and distinguished scientists, such as Mr. Athanasios F. Vlachos, Mr. Panagiotis Gargalianos - Kakolyris, Mr. Moisis Lelekis, Mr. Evripidis Bilirakis, Ms. Vasiliki Papaevangelou, Mr. Georgios Samonis, Mr. Stavros Fotopoulos, Ms. Maria Chini,   will participate in the conference by giving speeches.

Mr. Marios K. Lazanas, Internist – Infectious Disease Specialist, Director, Internal Medicine – Infectious Diseases Clinic, IASO General Clinic, and Chairman, Infection Control Committee, IASO Group, will serve as moderator of the conference.
