At the 33rd Annual Meeting of the Spine Society of Australia, as a keynote speaker invited by the Society, he presented to spine surgeons the endoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques, as well as ways to avoid complications, for the first time.
Endoscopic & Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery treats the entire range of spine conditions and deformities (cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral) with contemporary, advanced techniques. The principles of Evidence-Based Medicine are strictly applied, and particular importance is given to the step-by-step treatment of the conditions, based on scientific documentation, from which the success of the respective treatment is evaluated.
Advantages of Endoscopic and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Techniques:
- They are carried out through small skin incisions (~1 cm), resulting in the minimization of the destruction of surrounding tissues and in the avoidance of bleeding
- In most techniques, they surgeries performed with local anesthesia
- Postoperative recovery-healing is swift
- There is almost no pain after surgery
- Hospital stay is minimized: patients are discharged the next day, or even a few hours after the operation
- Patients are immediately functional and can return to work in a very short period of time.
At IASO General Clinic, organizational and operational excellence, modern facilities with innovative medical technological equipment, staffing consisting of highly-qualified personnel and collaborations with leading physicians of all specialties, guarantee the provision of high-level healthcare services, for men and women of all age groups.
