IASO recognizes the importance of protection and prevention to ensure you remain sexually healthy and preserve your fertility. PCR is the most modern STD detection method used worldwide, with unparalleled diagnostic accuracy compared to the conventional cultures traditionally used.

IASO offers the following check-up packages for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) at special rates.

• STD Check-up at the special rate of €35: Includes testing for chlamydia, ureaplasma and mycoplasma
• STD Check-up Plus at the special rate of €90: Includes testing for chlamydia, ureaplasma, mycoplasma, gonorrhea, haemophilus, herpes, syphilis and trichomonas
• HPV Infection Testing for detection and typing of viral DNA at the special rate of €83
• Active Chronic HPV Infection Testing for detection of high-risk mRNA viral oncoproteins at the special rate of €83

The tests are performed on level -2, IASO Hospital, Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00, without an appointment, and the offer is valid until 31/10/2021.

HPV infection is very common and is transmitted through sexual intercourse. It is estimated that 80% of women have come into contact with the virus during their lifetime. Most infections are transient and do not cause any damage, but persistent infection may cause dysplasia or even cancer.

Prevention of cervical carcinogenesis or the consequences of STDs is mainly achieved through vaccination in adolescence. Systematic use of condoms and comprehensive Pap tests, HPV tests and STD testing are considered necessary for secondary prevention from HPV and other STDs.

The modern PCR technique detects both HPV and other STDs. PCR tests are performed at IASO with remarkable diagnostic accuracy that reaches 97%.
