11th Post-educational Conference on Breastfeeding organized by the Midwives Association of Athens (SEMMA) and IASO
In the context of celebrating World Breastfeeding Week 2017, the Midwives Association of Athens (SEMMA) and IASO are holding the 11th Post-educational Conference on Breastfeeding, titled “We support breastfeeding TOGETHER”. The Conference commences on Monday 04 December and ends on Saturday 09 December 2017 (Advanced Course), at the Events Hall of IASO.
The 35-hour Conference is intended for Health Care Professionals (HCPs), and is held under the Auspices of the Ministry of Health and UNICEF. The Conference’s Scientific Program has been designed based on the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and the National Breastfeeding Committee, aiming at the continuing education of HCPs on Breastfeeding. The “11th Post-educational Conference on Breastfeeding” will award 29 credits of Continuing Medical Education (CME) to the attendees.
Renowned Scientists, holding multi-year experience and having highly contributed to the support, promotion and advancement of Breastfeeding in our country, shall participate as Speakers in the Conference.
The Opening Ceremony of the Conference shall take place on Monday 04 December at 12.00 noon, at the Events Hall of IASO. The Conference shall be addressed by Dr. Georgios Stamatiou, Chair of IASO Group BOD, Mr. Emmanouil Diakomanolis, Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Athens, Chair of IASO Scientific Board, and Ms Evaggelia Charmandari, Professor of Pediatrics and Adolescent Endocrinology, 1st Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine, University of Athens, “Agia Sophia” University Hospital. The Conference shall also be addressed by Ms Victoria Vivilaki, RM PgCert MMedSc PhD, Chair of SEMMA BOD, Associate Professor of Community Midwifery, and Ms Sophia Βiti, Midwife, Director of Nursing Services at IASO.
