Model Bronchoscopy Unit

Internal Medicine Clinics
Model Bronchoscopy Unit
Due to its ergonomic design, bronchoscopies can be performed in areas with independent ventilation, preventing the spread or viruses/bacteria, while the staff follow all the safety and prevention measures, wearing special protective clothing and masks.

The endoscopy rooms have been designed to resemble an operating room, with medical devices that are equipped with special rotating arms, offering better ergonomics and flexibility during bronchoscopies.

The procedures are performed by pulmonology specialists with long experience in diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies and excellent scientific training.

Services Offered

  • Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) Bronchoscopy

The combination of video bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) allows pulmonologists to examine medical conditions and collect biopsies from hard-to-inspect areas, such as:

    • Lymph nodes of the mediastrinum and pulmonary hila
    • Nodules and tumors in the lung parenchyma that are in contact with the bronchial tree
    • Fiducial (tiny gold markers) placement for guided local radiotherapy
  • Diagnostic Video Bronchoscopy

The bronchial tree is examined directly using latest generation video bronchoscopes and the following procedures are performed:

    • Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL)
    • Endobronchial biopsies
    • Cytology examination using brush and bronchial secretions
    • Testing for infections and bacterial agents using special sterile brushes to collect bronchial secretions
  • Interstitial lung diseases

Conditions of the lung parenchyma are diagnosed using special bronchoscopy techniques:

    • Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL)
    • Intrabronchial biopsies of lung tissue
  • Therapeutic bronchoscopy

    Therapeutic bronchoscopy
  • Peripheral nodules

Detection and biopsy of peripheral nodules via guided bronchoscopy using augmented reality
  • Pleural effusion

    Ultrasound-guided detection, aspiration and drainage
