    • Elaboration of a doctoral thesis at the Laboratory of Experimental Physiology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, on the subject: "The activity of inhalation muscles during exhalation in patients immediately after coronary artery bypass" under the supervision of Prof. Panagiotis Behrakis.

    • Prevention, diagnosis, accurate staging and treatment of lung cancer and other chest tumors.

    • 1999: Scholarship from the Foundation of State Scholarships due to excellent performance during the Academic year 1998-1999 in the 4th year of study at the Medical School of the University of Patras.
    • 2010: After written examinations, received a scholarship for one semester from the Hellenic Respiratory Society and further training at the Department of Non-Invasive Mechanical Ventilation and Sleep Breathing Disorders at the University Hospital of Bristol, UK (Sleep Medicine and Respiratory Department, Bristol Royal Infirmary, University  Hospitals Bristol NHS Trust, under Dr Adam Whittle, Consultant in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine) from 15/04/2012 to 14/10/2012
    • 2011: After written examinations, received a second scholarship for one year from the Hellenic Respiratory Society and further training in Chest Oncology at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, University Hospitals Bristol NHS Trust, (under Dr. Adam Dangoor, Consultant Medical Oncologist) from 15/10/2012 until 09/08/2013
