On the occasion of World Osteoporosis Day (Friday 20 October 2017), IASO General spreads the message “We feel strong… We’re healthy!” and offers a screening package with a free of charge physical assessment by highly trained Orthopedics and Rheumatology Specialists, as well as a Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test at the preferential price of 30€.
The free of charge physical assessment shall be carried out at the Division of Osteoporosis of IASO General. If indicated by the findings of the physical examination, a Fracture Risk Assessment (FRAX index) shall also be performed.

Osteoporosis is a chronic metabolic bone disease characterized by gradual bone mass and structural quality loss. Over time, this results in more fragile and thinner bones, while the risk of fracture increases. According to National Osteoporosis Society, 1 in 2 women aged over 50 years will suffer osteoporosis and experience an osteoporotic fracture at some point in their life. In men, the respective rate is 1 in 5.
