IASO General Clinic: 14th IBUS Athens Breast Course: Three days of advanced training, scientific knowledge exchange and innovation
The 14th IBUS Athens Breast Course will be held from Thursday, June 11th, to Saturday, June 13th, 2026, at the facilities of IASO Group (37–39 Kifissias Ave, Maroussi), featuring a three-day advanced training program on the detection, diagnosis, staging, interventional procedures, ultrasound-guided surgery and management of breast conditions.
The scientific course is organized by the IBUS Breast Imaging School, with Prof. Enzo Durante as its Chairman, in collaboration with E.M.E.I.S. (Scientific Society of Mastology - Treatment and Support). E.M.E.I.S., having Dr. Grigorios Xepapadakis, Breast Surgeon and its Founder as Chairman, with the support of his associate, Dr. Lazaros Papadopoulos, Breast Surgeon and member of the ESO College Council, and under the auspices of the Hellenic Society of Breast Surgeons, whose President, Prof. Dr. Vasileios Venizelos, and former Vice President, Dr. Sofoklis Lanitis, actively participate in the scientific planning of the program.
Leading international experts in breast imaging and surgical treatment will participate in the scientific event, focusing on the most clinically significant developments in breast oncology, particularly the integration of diagnostic accuracy and the selection of the most appropriate therapeutic approach.
The objective of the educational program is to advance knowledge with regard to the optimal use of imaging techniques in the detection, diagnosis, staging, interventional procedures, ultrasound-guided surgery, the management of early breast cancer and high-risk breast lesions.
The thematic lectures have been carefully selected to provide an evidence-based and up-to-date scientific knowledge foundation, highlighting imaging techniques, evaluation criteria and interventional procedures, in accordance with the latest technological advances and established clinical data.
The program is further enriched with hands-on sessions, during which participants, divided into small groups, will have the opportunity to perform interventional procedures directly on phantoms, under the guidance of the course’s scientific team. In addition, live surgical procedures employing different techniques will be conducted and broadcast via a closed-circuit system, allowing participants to interact directly with the surgeons.
The IBUS Breast Imaging School has been organizing similar courses for more than 35 years and has gained broad recognition within the international scientific community. This extensive experience has made a significant contribution to the dissemination of high standards in breast imaging on a global basis. The European School of Oncology (ESO) has included the course among its recommended scientific events.
The scientific course provides Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credits, granted by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), the accreditation body of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
