Free lab test and free consultation with hematologist for thalassemia diagnosis upon indications
Prompted by World Thalassemia Day and aiming to raise awareness about the problems encountered by suffering patients, IASO is offering a comprehensive lab test to identify thalassemia types. The lab tests include:
- Complete blood count
- Iron
- Ferritin
- Hemoglobin electrophoresis
Any patients displaying deviation from the reference range for hemoglobin electrophoresis will be offered a free-of-charge consultation with a Hematology Specialist (by appointment).

Thalassemia is an inherited condition transmitted from the parents, whereby the body cannot synthesize chains of hemoglobin, which are necessary for oxygen transfer. Early diagnosis is important for deciding the treatment approach and performing proper prenatal screening.
