IASO Endoscopic Surgery Department (ODS) organizes 2nd Advanced Course in Gynecologic Laparoscopy

The IASO Endoscopic Surgery Department (ODS) is organizing the 2nd Advanced Course in Gynecologic Laparoscopy on Friday 19 April 2019 at the IASO Events Hall. The course also includes hands-on practice, which will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April 2019 at the ELPEN Research & Experimental Center.

IASO has one of the largest and most comprehensive laparoscopic surgery departments in Greece. It has 6 state-of-the-art operating rooms, where more than 3,500 laparoscopic procedures are performed annually for over a decade.

The seminar aims to update doctors on the applications and developments in modern gynecologic laparoscopic surgery.

The course includes:

  • Main principles of operating room organization, safe management of incidents and prevention of potential complications.
  • Targeted talks by distinguished speakers on specific gynecologic conditions and their proper laparoscopic management.
  • Live broadcast of surgeries, during which participants will be able to make comments and pose questions to the surgeon.

Leading Greek speakers from the area of Gynecologic Laparoscopic Surgery will participate in the course.

Professor Emmanouil Diakomanolis, Chairman of the Scientific Board, IASO Hospital, will serve as moderator of the event.

The Organizing Committee Chairmen are Pantelis I. Trompoukis, Member of the IASO Group Board of Directors and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics / Gynecology, European University Cyprus; Konstantinos Mavrommatis, Obstetrician / Gynecologist, University of Athens PhD holder and President of the Greek Society for Gynecological Endoscopy; and Apostolos E. Papalois, PhD, KGSJ, AMACS, Director of the ELPEN Research & Experimental Center, Visiting Professor at Harvard Medical School, Visiting Associate Professor at European University Cyprus, and Deputy President of the National Committee for Experimental Research and Training.

This scientific event is addressed to all the doctors, irrespective of their experience in laparoscopic surgery. Participation in the theoretical part (19/4) is free.
