The presentation by the Department of Neurosurgery of IASO Children’s Hospital titled “Modern management of neurosurgical diseases in young patients” shall be held on Thursday 14 September 2017, from 11:00 to 12:30, at the Event Hall of IASO Hospital (37-39, Kifissias av, Maroussi).

The speech shall be delivered by Professor Mr. Vasileios A. Zerris, MD, MPH, MSc, FAANS, Chief of the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery at IASO Children’s Hospital, Professor of Neurosurgery at the European University Cyprus, Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Texas A&M University, USA, Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

The aim of the scientific event is the presentation of a series of frequent or increased difficulty cases that were managed by Prof. V. Zerris and his team, with the purpose of establishing the perception of the capability of managing young patients suffering from neurosurgical diseases.

In particular, during the presentation, the following areas shall be thoroughly considered:

• Cranial and spinal dysraphism
• Craniosynostosis
• Brain tumors
• Chiari malformations
• Spasticity

A few words about the Department of Neurosurgery at IASO Children’s Hospital

The Pediatric Neurosurgery Team at IASO Children’s Hospital, under the guidance of Mr. Vasileios A. Zerris, MD, MPH, MSc, FAANS, Professor of Neurosurgery at the Texas A&M University, European University Cyprus, and School of Medicine at the University of Cyprus, deals with Central Nervous System diseases troubling young patients at the beginning of their lives.
