  • Education & Academic Titles
    Medical School at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Specialized in Surgical Urology at the University Urology Clinic of Sismanoglio Hospital, Greece. Fellowship in Endourology and Laparoscopic Surgery in the United States. Trained in Robotic Urology at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
  • M.Sc (Doctoral Thesis)
    Graduated with honors as a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Athens, with a dissertation entitled “Nutrition and Nephrolithiasis” (Greece).
  • Professional Experience
    • Served as Consultant and Deputy Director of the Urology Clinic at 251 General Airforce Hospital of Athens (251 GHFH).
    • For two decades, served as Director of the Endoscopic and Robotic Urology Clinic at the Athens Medical Center, Marousi.
    • From January 1, 2026, appointed Director of the 6th Surgical Clinic at IASO Hospital, Marousi, focusing on Minimally Invasive treatment of Urological disorders (Endoscopic and Robotic Urology).
  • Clinical Interest
    • Specializes in the diagnosis and Minimally Invasive treatment of Urological diseases, using both Endoscopic and Robotic Surgical Techniques, as well as the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Urological practice.
    • Since the introduction of the first Da Vinci Robotic System in Greece in 2006, pioneered its clinical application, developing techniques for Robotic Radical Prostatectomy, Radical Nephrectomy, and the formation of Neobladder from a Small Intestinal Segment, achieving one of the Largest Series Worldwide.

    First Prize:

    1. At the 17th Panhellenic Urology Conference, June 2004, Alexandroupoli, for “Laparoscopically Assisted Radical Nephrectomy”.
    2. At the 1st Robotic Surgery Congress of the International Society of Robotic Surgery, February 2014, Las Vegas, Nevada, for “Complete Robotic Orthotopic Neobladder Creation”.

    Honorary President of the Balkan Committee of Military Doctors.

    In 2010, organized the First Prostate Cancer Conference in Greece, performing the first Live Robotic Radical Prostatectomy demonstration in the Country.

  • Research
    During his training in the United States, the Doctor focused on research in Experimental models and Clinical settings, working on the application of the Retroperitoneal Laparoscopic approach to the Kidneys for the management of both benign and malignant Renal Conditions, as well as on the Endourological treatment of Urinary Tract disorders. His research also focused on the Etiology of Nephrolithiasis at the level of Renal Epithelial Cells. This work was presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association and published in Internationally Recognized Journals.
