• Was trained at Didymotichon and Sismanoglion Hospitals, Greece, and received a Specialty Qualification in General Surgery with honors (1998),
• Was awarded a PhD degree (grade: Excellent) from Athens National Kapodistrian University (1998). Thesis: Bacterial translocation in acute pancreatitis
• Was awarded with honors and distinctions from the Hellenic Surgical Society thrice (1996, 1997, 1998)
• Received his postgraduate training in the field of Surgical Oncology (upper GI) at UK (St. George’s Hospital-London) and Japan (National Cancer Center Hospital-Tokyo) (1998-1999)
• Has participated in numerous National and International Congresses as attendee or chairman, and in several scientific publications as author/co-author as well. Member of scientific societies in the fields of surgery and oncology
• Since 2000 faculty of Department of Surgery at Thriassio General Hospital - Athens, Greece (National Health Service). Since 2013 serves as a Consultant Surgeon in the same department.
• Since 2020 holds the Chair of Director of Department of Surgery (Thriassio Hospital)
• He is actively involved in junior medical staff training. Since 2016, he supervises a summer vocational program in collaboration with HAEF’s (Psychico College) Counseling and Career office.
