Salpingography
Salpingographies are performed on a daily basis at IASO Thessalias. The Salpingography or Hysterosalpingography (HSG) examination, which has been used for 100 years, is carried out on the Radiology Table, under aseptic conditions, by the specialized Radiologist and the specialized Radiologic Technologist, by appointment and after the necessary preparation.

It is a harmless and essentially painless method that is carried out mainly in cases of infertility investigation.

With the HSG method, we mainly check the patency of the fallopian tubes, any congenital abnormalities of the uterus, adhesions and small polyps, conditions which may cause women’s temporary infertility.

The examination is performed by the administration of contrast agent from the cervix, X-rays of the fallopian tubes and uterine cavity are taken and they are evaluated. Due to the relative pressure that the uterine cavity receives from the liquid contrast agent, the woman may feel pain similar to menstruation.

The examination is carried out by appointment, between the 7th and 12th day from the start of the menstruation and the main procedure takes 3–10 minutes.
