The combination of Robotic Knee and Hip Surgery with Real Intelligence technology is now happening at IASO Thessalias.

The CORI Robotic Surgical System by Smith and Nephew is a surgical robot of cutting-edge technology, combining the art of robotics with real time intelligence (Real Intelligence).

In addition to absolute precision in joint mapping, planning, implant measurement and performing surgical procedures, CORI provides information and guidance on correct implant placement, joint kinematics and implant selection, with the use of a specialized Real Intelligence software. In this way, the possibility of error is practically eliminated, the intervention in the tissues is minimal and only to the extent needed, while patients receive a new joint that corresponds exactly to them, with a great durability of 20-25 years and which functions with absolute precision, as if it were the natural one.

The first 15 operations were already performed during the first 10 days of the arrival of the CORI Robotic System by the certified Orthopedic Surgeons and Directors of the 1st Orthopedics Clinic - Robotic Surgery of the Musculoskeletal System of IASO Thessalias, Mr. Konstantinos Makridis, MD, MSc, PCaosD, ESpD, PhD (certified robotic system user) and Mr. Miltiadis Georgousis, MD, MSc, PhD (certified robotic system user).

The mobilization of the patients was immediate, within just 10 hours after surgery, with the application the special protocols of the 1st Orthopedics Clinic (Fast-Track protocols) and with an average stay of 36 hours in the clinic.
