The Ultrasound Laboratory has high-resolution and high-definition ultrasound systems that allow all modern ultrasound and triplex examinations to be performed. The use of cutting-edge technology (GE Logic S8 ultrasound system) combined with the expertise of the medical associates and the harmonious collaboration with the staff and the patient, ensure the reliable image taking, management, depiction and validity of diagnoses, throughout the full range of examinations.

The following examinations are performed:

  • Upper and lower abdominal ultrasound (solid organ scan)
  • Thyroid, neck, breast, scrotum ultrasounds
    • Color Doppler scan: Thyroid disease – cervical lymphadenitis scan
    • Study of parenchymal nodule vascularization of the thyroid and of cervical and breast masses
    • Study of neoplasm/parenchymal lesion vascularization
  • Ultrasounds of the internal genitalia
  • Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy of the thyroid

 

Color Doppler Ultrasound – Triplex Ultrasound:

  • Screening of the great and peripheral vessels
  • Investigation and staging of atherosclerosis
  • Monitoring before and after intraluminal repair – postoperatively and categorization of carotid atherosclerotic plaque
  • Study – mapping of the superficial and deep venous system
  • Color Doppler Ultrasound – Oncology
  • Ultrasonography of superficial organs with hemodynamic study (thyroid, neck, breast, scrotum)
  • Screening of vascularization of the renal parenchyma and renal branches
  • Screening of the abdominal aorta and its branches
  • Screening of the splenoportal axis
