Certifications - Accreditations

In 2006, IASO’s Central Laboratories were certified according to the International Standard ISO 9001:2000 for their applied Quality Management System and later according to the International Standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015 granted by the eminent and internationally recognized Certification Body TÜV Hellas (a subsidiary of the German TÜV NORD GROUP).

At the end of 2016, IASO Group’s Hospitals (IASO, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias), in their continuous effort to provide high quality healthcare services, were all, certified for all the provided services and departments (medical, nursing, supplementary), according to the International Standard ISO 9001:2015 for the Quality Management Systems developed by IASO Group (IASO, IASO Children’s Hospital, IASO Thessalias). This certification followed the former one according to the International Standard ISO 9001:2008 since 2012. At the end of 2018 and of 2021, there were also finalised their recertifications according to ISO 9001:2015. The aforementioned certifications were awarded following thorough audit by TÜV Hellas (a subsidiary of the German TÜV NORD GROUP). During the audits conducted in 2012 as well as the following certification audits and the intermediate surveillance audits performed after 2012 until today, was confirmed the high quality of healthcare services provided by the Hospitals of the Group on every occasion.

Temos International Healthcare Services, based in Germany, was founded in 2010 and is the only international organization focusing on the quality of international patient management with regard to both medical and non-medical services provided. To this end, TEMOS International has developed the international standard “Standards – Quality in Medical Care – For Hospitals”, aiming to assess and optimize hospitals’ medical, nursing, and support services for international patients, as well as to ensure compliance with safety and clinical effectiveness requirements for all patients.

IASO Group’s Clinics have developed and implemented a Quality Management System that fully complies with the requirements of the TEMOS International standard. Since 2013, IASO Group’s Clinics have been successfully assessed in accordance with the TEMOS International “Quality in Medical Care” standard, confirming the high level of healthcare services provided to all patients.

This assessment is of particular importance for IASO Group, as TEMOS International standards have been expanded to cover a broader range of healthcare providers’ functions and processes. Furthermore, TEMOS International’s specialized assessment standards and programs have been validated and approved by ISQUA EEA (International Society for Quality in Healthcare – External Evaluation Association), an internationally recognized body, widely known as the “evaluator of evaluators” in healthcare services.

All the hospitals of IASO Group are certified according HACCP (Standards of IASO 22000) for the provision of catering services.

Since 2013, IASO Group’s Clinics have been designated and recommended by the Diplomatic Council (DC) as “Best Hospitals Worldwide 2014”, a distinction that has been renewed and remains valid to date under the status of “Preferred Partner Hospital”, highlighting the organization’s continued preference for IASO Group’s Clinics. The Diplomatic Council, headquartered in The Hague, is an international strategic think tank, comprising members who are distinguished figures from the fields of diplomacy, politics, industry, arts, and sports.

This recognition follows the quality certifications and assessments of IASO Group’s Clinics, including their successful assessment in accordance with the standards of TEMOS International for quality in medical care, as well as their certifications by TÜV Hellas (TÜV Nord) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and EN 15224:2017 standards, confirming the high level of healthcare services provided and their state-of-the-art infrastructure.

IASO Group, with a consistent commitment to quality assurance across all its Clinics through international standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and EN 15224:2017, combined with international assessment in accordance with TEMOS International standards and recognition by international organizations such as the Diplomatic Council, strategically signals the expansion of its activities into the international medical tourism market.

Certification according to ΕΝ 15224:2012 and the new ΕΝ 15224:2016 (ELOT ΕΝ 15224:2017) of the IVF Medically Assisted Reproduction Units of the Group (IASO and IASO Thessalias)

At the end of 2016, the two Medically Assisted Reproduction Units of IASO (Institute of Life) and of IASO Thessalias, were certified according to the specialized Standard EN 15224:2012 and since 2018 according to its’ new edition EN 15224:2016 (Greek ELOT EN 15224:2017). It is a Standard that focuses in healthcare provision, giving emphasis to the quality of the provision of care that the patient receives. At the end of 2019 the two IVF Units were recertified. The IASO and IASO Thessalias Hospitals, are two of the first hospitals in Greece that are certified according to this Standard for their IVF Units. This certification is also a legal obligation (Presidential Decree 10/2016, Ministrial Decision 6901/2015), for the Medically Assisted Reproduction Units and the connected Cryopreservation Banks. It is noted that this certification, in addition to the former official audit that was conducted in 2016, is also obligatory according to the aforementioned legal obligations documents for the licensing of the IVF Units. It is noted that the licensing has already been finalised for both of the IVF Units of the Group and it is renewed in a 3years basis.

Since 2007, IASO Group’s Medstem Services S.A. Stem Cells Bank operates under the accreditation awarded by AABB (former American Association of Blood Banks), which is renewed every 2 years. Within the framework of quality control process for accreditation purposes, AABB delegates biannually inspect the laboratories of the bank and certify the performance of “IASO Group Stem Cells Bank” on medical, technical and administrative level. During the audit, the quality system and the operations of the bank are thoroughly investigated and the award of the accreditation certificate constitutes the evidence that the bank covers or exceeds the requirements of the accreditation standards. In July 2021, the accreditation was renewed.
