Safe Hospitalization | Information for Caregivers and Visitors

Your Contribution Matters

At IASO Thessalias, we believe that high-quality care and safe hospitalization are the result of collaboration among patients, companions, and healthcare professionals.

Your presence alongside your loved one is important. By following a few simple guidelines, you contribute significantly to patient safety, comfort, and recovery, while also supporting the smooth operation of the hospital.

Why Are These Guidelines Important?

The instructions provided by our staff are designed to protect patients and ensure a safe healthcare environment.

For example:

  • Hand hygiene significantly reduces the risk of germ transmission.
  • Wearing a mask helps protect vulnerable patients.
  • Visitor restrictions help patients rest and reduce the risk of introducing and spreading infections within patient care areas.
  • Isolation measures are implemented solely for protection and infection prevention purposes.

Your cooperation is an important part of the safe and high-quality care we provide.

Hygiene & Infection Prevention

Infection prevention is everyone's responsibility.

To help protect patients, visitors, and staff:

  • Sanitize your hands when entering and leaving the patient's room.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.
  • Wear a mask whenever requested by staff or when special instructions are in place.
  • Avoid touching medical equipment, devices, and tubing.
  • Do not use the patient's bed or medical equipment.
  • If you experience symptoms of illness (fever, cough, diarrhea, or vomiting), please postpone your visit until you have fully recovered.

During Hospitalization

To ensure the best possible experience for all patients:

  • Respect visiting hours and quiet hours.
  • Follow the instructions of the medical and nursing staff.
  • Limit the number of visitors when required.
  • Help keep patient areas clean and tidy.
  • Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of the hospital.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the patient's hospitalization, please contact the nursing staff of the department.

IASO Thessalias is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for patients, companions, and visitors alike.
