IASO Thessalias: The Basic Life Support courses for the personnel continue

IASO Thessalias has undertaken a remarkable initiative in the last 2 years, providing its employees with the training program "Basic Life Support with the use of an automated external defibrillator (BLS-AED)", in the context of the continuous improvement of their knowledge in dealing with emergencies.
The program is already taking place within IASO Thessalias and more than 150 employees have been trained to date, with specialized training equipment by the certified trainer in Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS & ALS), Mr. Aristeidis Filokostas, Deputy Director of the Nursing Division and Head of Infections at IASO Thessalias. It is addressed to everyone, regardless of status or cognitive background, with the aim of enabling each person to recognize and deal with life-threatening and non-life-threatening incidents, such as cardiorespiratory arrest, myocardial infarction, airway obstruction, fracture or dislocation, epileptic seizure, acute hypothermia, etc. The certification is provided in collaboration with the international training organization Rescue Training International (RTI).
IASO Thessalias, striving to offer patients upgraded healthcare services, in harmony with the requirements of contemporary medicine, invests in the continuous training of its nursing and other kinds of personnel. The goal is for IASO Thessalias to transfer this knowledge to society in the subsequent time period. To educate ordinary citizens and not only health professionals, young children and adolescents, in an effort for them to obtain valuable knowledge and be properly prepared to face a life-threatening incident, increasing the chances of lifesaving.
