It is with great honor that IASO Thessalias announces the official launch of a scientific affiliation between the 1st Surgery Clinic and the Proctology Unit Degli Ospedali Privati Forli of Italy. The aim of the twinning is to provide joint training to surgeons on innovative colorectal surgeries, ensure proper implementation of diagnostic algorithms, exchange ideas, and receive a second opinion from prominent and distinguished physicians.

The IASO Thessalias 1st Surgery Clinic is headed by surgeon Evangelos Kanavos, assisted by qualified and experienced associates, and covers the entire range of general surgery procedures. It specializes in minimally invasive surgery of the abdominal wall/diaphragm, colon, rectum and small bowel, stomach, anus and perianal area, pelvic organs and biliary conditions, using the latest technology (EPSiT, Rafaelo, LIFT, VAΑFT) 

The long experience of the doctors in the latest endoscopic techniques and their familiarity with revolutionary technology enabled the IASO Thessalias 1st Surgery Clinic to forge such a significant affiliation beyond the Greek borders and, specifically, with the most dedicated Proctology Center in Europe. The Proctology Department at Forli, headed by Dr. Francesco Cantarella and Dr. Enrico Magni, is breaking new ground in the treatment of anal and perianal conditions, with innovative laser techniques and surgeries for special medical cases, which are taught and presented worldwide.

By signing the Twinning Memorandum, both parties agreed to actively contribute to the joint training of their doctors in the fields of expertise associated with their affiliation by:

• Conducting training seminars and exchanging visits of trainers and trainees for hands-on training.
• Presenting special educational topics (e-learning) via distance learning and discussing cases by organizing telemedicine conferences.
