Vision continues to develop throughout childhood and adolescence, making early diagnosis and treatment of potential eye conditions particularly important.

Conditions evaluated and treated include:

  • refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism
  • strabismus
  • amblyopia (“lazy eye”)
  • visual acuity disorders
  • congenital and acquired eye conditions
  • eye inflammation and infections
  • ophthalmological conditions requiring further investigation or surgical treatment.

Preventive eye examinations can contribute to the early detection of vision problems, even when a child is not aware of or unable to describe the difficulty.
