Pediatric Surgery
The Pediatric Surgery Department at IASO Thessalias provides specialized surgical care for newborns, infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired conditions requiring surgical treatment.
Conditions treated include those affecting:
- the gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary systems
- the genital system
- the chest and abdomen
- the neck, soft tissues and anorectal region
- congenital anomalies and inflammatory conditions
- injuries and burns.
Particular emphasis is placed on the surgical treatment of newborns, in close collaboration with Neonatologists and the specialized staff of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at IASO Thessalias. This collaboration supports the organized care of newborns with congenital or acquired conditions requiring surgery and specialized neonatal hospitalization.
Where appropriate, modern minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, are used to reduce the impact of surgery and support smoother postoperative recovery.
