International Basic Surgical Skills (BSS) seminar continues to grow at IASO Thessalias
With strong international participation and increasing interest from the European medical and academic community, the Basic Surgical Skills (BSS) Seminar was once again successfully hosted at IASO Thessalias. The programme has been held continuously at the hospital since 2012 and has become a well-established educational institution in surgical training.
The programme is delivered by Professor of Surgery Dimitrios Zacharoulis, in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS), and has trained and certified more than 700 young surgeons to date.
This year’s seminar further strengthened its international profile, attracting participants from leading universities and educational institutions across Europe, including the United Kingdom, Italy and Malta. The multicultural environment encouraged the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices among future surgical professionals.
The BSS programme focuses on practical, hands-on training in fundamental surgical techniques using modern equipment and internationally recognized teaching methods. Upon successful completion, participants receive certification from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, adding significant value to their professional development.
By continuously hosting internationally recognized educational programmes, IASO Thessalias reinforces its role as a leading healthcare and training centre in Central Greece, committed to excellence in medical education and clinical practice.
