Nerve entrapment syndromes of the upper limb
Latest Diagnostic and Therapeutic Developments
IASO Thessalias hosted a scientific lecture dedicated to nerve entrapment syndromes of the upper limb, one of the most common conditions affecting hand and arm function. The event formed part of the Scientific Lectures 2025–2026 programme.
The lecture was delivered by Dr Zoe Dailiana, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Thessaly and Director of the Hand, Upper Limb and Microsurgery Department at IASO Thessalias. The session was moderated by Dr Apostolos Komnos, Medical Director of IASO Thessalias.
Topics included carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve entrapment and other common neuropathies of the upper extremity. Modern diagnostic approaches, treatment strategies and underlying conditions associated with nerve compression syndromes were discussed.
The lecture also highlighted contemporary minimally invasive surgical techniques, as well as advanced microsurgical methods used in recurrent or neglected cases requiring specialized reconstruction.
