By carrying out a single and safe diagnostic test within the endoscopy lab, we can now perform diagnosis and staging of the disease at the same time, limiting the need for a mediastinoscopy, which is performed in the operating room, is technically complex and may result in complications. The exam is performed under either twilight or general anesthesia, which also makes it less stressful for the patient.
