Surgical Management
Depending on the clinical indications and individual characteristics of each case, surgical techniques may be used to treat gynaecological malignancies, including:
- Cytoreductive surgery for advanced ovarian cancer and peritoneal disease.
- Minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery, for the surgical staging and treatment of selected cases of endometrial and cervical cancer.
- Sentinel lymph node mapping and biopsy in selected cases of endometrial, cervical and vulvar cancer.
- Fertility-sparing surgical approaches, where oncologically appropriate.
- Complex surgical procedures performed in collaboration with other medical specialties, including General Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.
Regular case assessment by the multidisciplinary Tumour Board supports coordinated treatment planning and subsequent follow-up, taking into account each patient's individual clinical characteristics.
