IASO Children’s Hospital: 4th One-Day Seminar for Parents“Nutrition Guide for Infants and Toddlers”
PEDIATRIC
The 4th One-Day Seminar for Parents on the topic: "Nutrition Guide for Infants and Toddlers" will be held on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, at 10:00, at IASO Hospital’s Event Hall.
IASO Children’s Hospital continues to successfully organize seminars addressed to parents in regard to common issues that concern them. This time, the subject matter centers upon the nutrition of infants and toddlers, a particularly crucial factor for the proper development of children.
The aim of the seminar is to provide evidence-based knowledge and practical tools to parents, so they can understand the normal stages of children’s nutritional development from infancy to early childhood, as well as the most common feeding difficulties that may arise, such as selective eating, food refusal, choking episodes, or food phobias.
In addition, the role of parental anxiety will be analyzed, along with how it influences children’s eating behavior. Signs that may indicate pathological eating behaviors will also be discussed, together with appropriate interventions, putting emphasis on when it is necessary to receive aid from specialists such as pediatricians, speech therapists, psychologists, or nutritionists.
The seminar aims to empower parents, prevent negative dietary models and cultivate a healthy relationship between their child and food from the earliest years of their life.
The Scientific Directors of the seminar are Ms. Ioanna Barbounaki MD, MSc, PhD, Pediatrician, Director, 3rd Pediatrics Clinic, IASO Children’s Hospital, and Ms. Panagiota Kafritsa MD, PhD, Pediatric Gastroenterologist, Director, Gastroenterology Department, IASO Children’s Hospital.
