IASO: One-Day Conference "Topics of Interest on Infectious Diseases"
GENERAL
The Internal Medicine – Infectious Diseases Clinic of IASO is organizing a One-Day Conference entitled "Topics of Interest on Infectious Diseases", which will be held on Saturday, October 31st, 2026, at 09:00, in the Event Hall of IASO.
This year's Conference highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, emphasizing the close collaboration among infectious disease specialists, internists, hematologists, radiologists, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
The aim of the Conference is to present current and highly significant topics on Infectious Diseases that are encountered in clinical practice on a daily basis, placing particular emphasis on infections affecting vulnerable patient groups, hospital-acquired infections and emerging diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Special reference will be made to infections affecting the elderly, endocarditis, infections in neutropenic patients and infections associated with immunotherapy, while also the latest epidemiological, microbiological, and clinical data on Candida auris, an up-to-the-minute issue in modern hospital practice, will be presented.
At the same time, the meeting will highlight the essential contribution of Nursing to the prevention of hospital-acquired infections, as well as the important role of modern imaging methods— such as CT, MRI, interventional radiology and PET/CT—in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.
The Conference’s program also features a dedicated session on the potential applications of Artificial Intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, showcasing the new prospects being created in modern medicine.
Presentations by distinguished scientists and experts from various medical fields are included in the Conference, with the aim of exchanging scientific knowledge and experience, as well as strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration in the context of providing comprehensive patient care.
